SUVs have become the stars of the car market. Given their affordable prices and good looks, everyone wants one. Today, there is an SUV of every size and every price. Because of this, in the last decade, SUV sales have skyrocketed while the sales of luxury cars and hatchbacks have gone down very steeply.

However, an SUV is not always the greatest choice. There are drawbacks to it and then there are some factors that are more important than having to drive an expensive SUV.

Those priorities are – one, the budget and two, the needs of a family. It’s agreed that nothing can beat midsize SUVs, but when it comes to small size SUVs, there are better options in a different class.

Budget
Let’s talk about the budget. With more and more people choosing to buy SUVs, there have been extremely fewer people interested in sedans. Because of this reason, car makers are now giving heavy discounts and other benefits on the purchase of a sedan. So, a medium size sedan will cost lesser than a midsize SUV or a small SUV and you might get great deals on other accessories too.

Comfort
There’s one more advantage of buying a sedan rather than a small SUV and that is the comfort. Small SUVs are cramped and compromise a lot on quality to bring you the look and feel of an SUV. A sedan car, on the other hand, will give you greater space at the same price.

Honestly, a small SUV is not an SUV internally. It’s just the looks. You will never have the midsize SUV feel in a small size SUV because an SUV means a lot of space, good engine performance, a good off-roading experience, etc.

You will never have the real fun in a small SUV, in fact, it may complicate other things like hassle-free city driving and smooth parking in small places. A better thing to do will be to reconsider the budget and hike up to a new midsize SUV.
