Compositing course
Students enrolling in this course can learn to combine shots from different cameras which creates transitions from different perspectives. They use photographs, films, developing pictures, to study how lighting affects pictures at each stage. The film editing schools usually offer this course in the first year of the degree program.
Visual effects editing course
This course teaches students to incorporate visual effects while editing films. Visual effects are used to make changes in the digital environment to make scenes flow realistically, dramatically, and smoothly. Several computer applications are used to modify data, cutting out fillers that are not required in the film. Visual effects editing is usually completed halfway through the degree program.
Editing technology course
Film editing schools offer an editing technology course to provide an overview of a number of techniques while pursuing film editing. Students practice editing technology with programs and equipment that modify data in different ways. Similar to the visual effects course, this course helps students gain practical experience in putting films together.
Digital video editing
Students can learn to produce and organize digital data and practice to add words and music to the completed videos. They can also incorporate other aspects such as color correction, special effects, basic film editing, and all those components that make the whole project come together. Students can learn film style while creating clips that can be included in portfolios. This course is specifically taken in the last year of the degree program.
Color-correction and sound course
Students can use this course to manipulate equipment to produce the light shade of the color. They also use shadow and other techniques to enhance specific elements of a film. The film editing classes also teach students to modify sounds to make them even-pitched.
