Attractive Paper Craft Activities for preschools
- Paper Butterflies: You only require colored paper and scissors.
Create a number of folds across the centre of the square. Fold the square diagonally one way. Open it out and fold it diagonally the other way. Now fold it half one way and fold it out and fold it in half the other way. Now open the paper and you should find criss-crossing the square in a star. Now again fold the paper in half to form a rectangle using the diagonal folds as a guide. Push each side inwards where the diagonal fold has to create a triangle shape. Fold the triangle in half again. Now cut a curved tip along with the open tip of the triangle. Open it out so that you have two curved tip points on both side and one point tip facing downwards. Take half of each curved tip side and fold it towards the middle crease. Now fold the tip behind and bring it up to peek about 5mm over the top edge. Fold the 5mm tip down to overlap the main part. Bring the 2 points again at the front. In the end, make a crease through the middle. Keep everything in place and finish off the making of butterfly shape. Make a whole flock. Your beautiful paper butterfly is ready.
- A star garland: All you need is a hole punch, lead pencil, scissors, a hole punch, 1*A4 printable sheet of cardboard, 1*A2 Sheet of gold cardboard, 1*star template.
The first step is to print the star template out onto a sheet of white cardboard. Cut each size of the star. Use these stars as a template to trace star shapes onto the back of the gold cardboard. Now use a combination of small and large stars to create the garland. Trace and cut at least 12. Use the whole punch to punch the hole in the tip of each star. You should thread the gold ribbon through each star and hang the garland around the classroom for a memorable and a creative craftwork.
- Make a gladiator helmet: All you need is 1*gladiator helmet template, 13cm*27cm strip of red paper, 55cm*5cm strip of box card, 27cm*5cmstrip of box card, 28cm*20cm piece of box card, craft knife, silver paint, stapler, glue.
Measure the head band piece around the kids head. Pin it into a circle that would fit tightly around the circumference of the child’s head. Position the cross piece at the back and front of the main head piece. Now staple it in place that would form the crown of the helmet. Print the gladiator template helmet onto white paper and cut each piece. Next is to trace around each piece into 28*20cm piece of cardboard. Cut those pieces out. Staple them and then stick them on the helmet. Before you complete the next step, paint the body of the helmet with silver. Get the strip of red paper and fringe cut along its longest edge to form a 4cm fringe. Do the same with the other side too and end up with a 5cm strip in the middle. Now fold the fringed slices so that they sit vertically. This would be the brush top of your helmet. Stick it on the crown strip. Your Gladiator helmet is ready.
